Eurovision game
After some input from "betas", here's a version of my game that should be a bit less impossible to solve. At least partially.

The links below are links to sniplets from Eurovision songs .. most of them are old. All of them in local languages - so no Latvians singing Italian or anything like that. Though there are twists on some of them.

The clips are 20 seconds each. Guess what language and what country might be responsible for the songs.

The "rules" are simple:
1) no looking into comments - I'm screening them so HAH, good look anyways!
2) I want to be amused. So don't be afraid to make a guess, also if it's a stupid one. I won't send the Albanian army after you if you call Basque Albanian. If you only have an inkling of a region or a language family, also good. :-D
3) If you feel like you've *ALMOST* gotten a language, but can't quite put your finger on it, I will put up alternative clips, of different songs from different years.
4) The one that doesn't sound crap is Estonian.
5) If you actually *REMEMBER* several of the songs, you're automatically more sad than I am. HAH!
6) Advertise! My sister says it's okay. If I get into trouble for copyright infringements, I'll finally have a reason to be really, really mean to her.

06 is Russian. As I understand, text is

Сквозь обыденный бред - звон потертых монет - слышу трель соловья. Я - это я. Душу мою не губи, такого как есть полюби

Or something like this. I don't like modern music.

Correct, needless to say :-D .. unfortunatley, my Russian is limited to knowing the alphabet and about 20 words, so I can't claim to understand the lyrics .. But I found a translation, at least:

Another try then. :-D

01 No idea really... might well be something like Flemish & Belgium. Or not. Probably not.
02 Ukrainian (I actually remember that song... it was the year the contest was held in Kiev, wasn't it?)
03 Easy... Finnish. And I don't remember that one.
04 I just don't seem to get that one.
05 Turkish? No real idea, but it seemed to have a lot of üüüü in it...
06 Russian (okay, I had seen the previous comments, but I do think I can generally tell Russian apart from all other Slavic languages).
07 Hm... nothing I can really recognise or understand, so... Hungarian?
08 Portuguese (deduction work!)
09 Hmmm. I'm tempted to guess Norwegian, but if so, then a dialect I am not familiar with.
10 After a few listens, I seemed to recognise some words, so it might actually be Danish.
11 Estonian! Woo! "Mere lapsed" - Koit Toome... the song was pretty enough really, but I just don't care for his singing style too much.
12 NO idea. :-|
13 That can only be Swedish, surely?
14 Um... Greece? Cyprus?
15 The hh-sound sounds a bit like it might be Hebrew, but...
16 I'm going to guess "something Slavic, or related" here.
17 Going to guess "something southern Slavic" here... Croatia, for example? :-D
18 Võro is still as easy to recognise as the previous time. ;-)
